What will happen during a session?

In your first session, Angela will take you through a medical questionnaire first and discuss with you which areas you are concerned about. Your practitioner will then carefully insert fine needles into certain places in the face to stimulate collagen production, improve circulation, and promote lymphatic drainage. Other Acupuncture points  on your legs, arms and body will also be needled as it will help support overall balance and well being. The needles will stay in for approx 20-30 minutes and a brief facial massage will be given at the end.

What are the benefits of Facial Acupuncture?

Benefits can range from a brighter complexion to tightening and toning to reduced wrinkles. The needles inserted in the body activate the natural healing response of the body and stimulate the nervous system and release endorphins, dopamine and serotonin. Patients have reported that facial acupuncture can also have a calming effect, leaving them feeling relaxed, reducing tension and lowering stress levels.

How many sessions will I need?

The recommendation is to have 6-10 weekly sessions to achieve the maximum number of benefits. The results after will last approx. 3 months. The recommendation is to have follow up sessions every 6 weeks to maintain the results.

Who should not have facial acupuncture?

- If you had botox, fillers, microdermabrasion in the last 4 months.

- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive

- If you suffer from excessive bleeding or  bruising

- If you have cancer, high blood pressure or diabetes 

- If you have chronic migraines

- If you have a pacemaker

- If you suffer from a cold or the flu at the time of your appointment

Are there any side effects to Facial Acupuncture?

Possible side effects can include bruising, slight bleeding or slight discomfort when the needles are inserted. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid having facial acupuncture prior to an event.
